On June 29, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, citing data from the General Statistics Office, said that in the first six months of this year, the total export turnover of agriculture, forestry and fishery products reached 24.59 billion USD, down 11.1% compared to the previous year. same period in 2022.

In which, the export value of main agricultural products reached 12.79 billion USD, up 12%; livestock products USD 232 million, up 26.5%; seafood 4.13 billion USD, down 27.4%; main forest products $ 6.5 billion, down 28.2%...

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, in the context of agricultural, forestry and fishery exports facing many difficulties, there are still 7 products and groups of products with export value of over 1 billion USD, including: coffee, rubber, rice, vegetables, cashew nuts, shrimp and wood products.

In particular, exports of rice and cashew nuts grew strongly in both volume and value: rice increased by more than 22% in volume and increased by 34.7% in export value; Cashew nuts increased by 10.5% in volume and 7.7% in export value.

Although coffee exports decreased in volume when only 1.02 million tons (down 2.2% compared to the same period in 2022), but thanks to the average export price increased by 5.2%, the export value in 6 months at the beginning of the year reached 2.4 billion USD, up 3% over the same period in 2022.

According to the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association, fruit and vegetable exports in June reached a value of nearly $1 billion, up 2.7 times over the same period in 2022. In the first six months of the year, export turnover of vegetables and fruits was estimated at 3. billion USD, approximately the total export value of vegetables and fruits in 2022 (3.16 billion USD).

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, China, the US and Japan continue to be the three largest export markets for Vietnam's agricultural, forestry and fishery products. In which, the export value to China accounted for 21.4%, up 7.7%; to the US accounted for 20.2%, down 32.9% and to Japan accounted for 7.7%, down 5.3%.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development is actively negotiating to export fresh coconuts to the US; agreed with Japan on new stamps for fresh Vietnamese mango and dragon fruit exports to Japan, starting from August 1.

In addition, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development is discussing with the General Administration of Customs of China to finalize the draft protocol on the requirements for importing Vietnamese chili and traditional fresh fruits (except bananas) into the Chinese market. .

In addition, the functional agencies of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development will regularly meet online with the General Department of Customs of China to remove obstacles for Vietnamese enterprises in enforcing regulations on traceability. ensure food safety when exporting agricultural, forestry and fishery products to this market.
